While Anna Koval and Youssef Kerkour, a couple bonded by years of marriage, have turned their union into a fortress of privacy in a world where everything is usually on display, they still seize moments to publicly celebrate each other with all the flair of Hollywood’s finest. Youssef couldn’t resist showcasing his admiration for his wife in a Twitter blast in June 2023:
Congratulations to my badass wife who voiced the character Rogue in Diablo IV. Out today. That’s 3 years of work. Home records with California…also known as bedtime when you have a new born. Breastfeeding between recording sessions. Total badass. #DiablolV #Rogue pic.twitter.com/FDYCVg6wfv

The couple has made a cozy nest in London, England, where they live with their daughter. Curious about the woman who stole Youssef’s heart? Stay tuned—here’s everything you need to know about Anna!
Anna Was An Ambitious Little Girl At School
From 1997 to 2002, Anna wasn’t just another student at St Mary’s—she took on significant roles such as Deputy Head Girl and Prefect. Her enthusiasm for drama led her to participate actively in school plays, where she earned the GCSE Drama prize.
And let’s not forget Ms. Bowles, the sharp English and Drama teacher who could spot a rising star from a mile away. She was all in on boosting Anna, pushing her from one stellar performance to the next.
After St Mary’s, Anna continued to pursue her passion for acting. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and graduated with her degree in 2007.
She Is An Actress With a Distinct Voice
After tossing her graduation cap, Anna immediately leaped straight into the limelight, making her debut in The Changeling in 2007 with the English Touring Theatre—and folks, she was nothing short of sensational.
Her career quickly gained momentum as she landed the role of Sam in the 2009 hit series Misfits, followed by a stint on Ripper Street starting in 2012.
But why stop at TV? Anna kept the buzz going with prominent roles in Lucky Man (2016), Giri/Haji (2019), and Carnival Row (2019-2023). Just when you thought you knew her range, she dove into the video game arena. Lending her voice to major titles like Halo (2022), Diablo IV (2023), and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (2024), she’s proven there’s no role too big or too digital for her to dominate!
She Uses Her Fame For The Good of Society
Koval’s not just lighting up screens; she’s sparking change behind the scenes too! At the Underwire Film Festival in 2017, she was a force to be reckoned with, winning an award for her performance in La Belle Folie and advocating for better representation of women in film and TV.
Besides her role as a film advocate, she is shaking up politics too! On October 23, 2021, she and her husband, Youssef, joined 13 artists for a daring protest, recording poetry that echoed through the streets as part of an Artcry installation. Their goal? To challenge societal norms and ensure human stories resonate at the heart of political discourse.
Continuing her streak of impactful projects, Koval also shone in three educational films for The Lighthouse Program, sharing the screen with Diana Quick and Amanda Wilkin.
