Morgan Freeman, renowned for his impactful roles in films, also influences his large family, which includes four children, sixteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

One standout is his daughter Morgana Freeman, who is taking the lead in shaping a legacy of a different kind—focusing on educational reform. As the executive director of the Tallahatchie River Foundation, she is at the forefront of her father’s mission to enhance early childhood education in their home state of Mississippi.

She often speaks about how her father’s experiences and values have fueled their shared dedication to education.

“My father Morgan Freeman, who grew up in Mississippi and became a very successful actor, felt that it was his responsibility when he returned back to give back. He knew education was the way; it’s the core of everything that needs to happen in Mississippi,” she said in the video about her dad’s nonprofit organization.

The connection between Morgana and her father is evident not only in their collaborative efforts but also in their public appearances together. Whether on red carpets or at charity events, it’s clear that the father-daughter duo shares a deep connection that shines through in everything they do together.

Morgana first became a mom when her daughter Alexis was born on May 29, 1991. The family joy doubled when she married her ex-husband, Aldric Johns, and they had a son, also named Aldric, on May 22, 2002. Coincidentally, this day is also the birthday of her stepdaughter, Stacy Johns, Aldric’s daughter from a previous relationship.

In May 2018, Freeman celebrated her kids’ shared birthday with an Instagram post, “16 years ago today I gave birth to a boy, on his oldest sister’s birthday. Happy birthday @atl.boominn and @stay_cce.”

Thank you for always making me feel special. You outdid yourself! To my children, @less.is.mo.free, @al.mighty.jr, @stacy_cce.”

Today, Morgana and her family are happily settled in Atlanta, Georgia.

She Has Three Half-Siblings

She is the youngest of three half-siblings, each from her father’s different relationships. Her oldest half-brother, Alfonso, born in 1959, is the son of Freeman and his ex-partner, Loletha Adkins.

Likewise, she has two half-sisters, Saifoulaye Freeman, born in 1960 and Deena Adair, who is the daughter of Jeanette Adair Bradshaw, her father’s first spouse.

She Had a Handful of Jobs Before Her Father’s Charity

Morgana had already built a varied career across several industries before dedicating herself to her father’s charitable efforts. She first ventured into entrepreneurship by opening a salon, Al2Gether, in the Greater Atlanta Area. She operated the salon between 1995 to 2000.

In 2000, she rebranded her business as Mo Freeman Salon and continued to operate it until 2009 in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Her experience also extends to the corporate sector. From 2002 to 2003, she was an administrative assistant at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®), where she provided vital support to senior management. She then took on the role of office manager at Project Development Services, Inc. (PDSI) in 2003.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Spelman College in 1993 and completed cosmetology studies at Atlanta Area Technical College in 1991.
