Kadeem Hardison, widely recognized from his role as Dwayne Wayne on A Different World, found a deep connection with his ex-wife, R&B singer Chanté Moore when they met at a party in 1993. This relationship quickly grew into something serious, leading to their marriage in November 1997.

Their time together wasn’t just about romance; it significantly influenced Chanté’s music. Her 1994 album, ‘A Love Supreme,’ features many tracks that echo her feelings for Kadeem, especially the song “Old School Lovin’. This song captures the joy and excitement of their early relationship.

Eventually, Chanté’s 1999 hit ‘Chante’s Got A Man,’ which was a celebration of her life with her now ex-husband became one of her most famous songs. Even though they split up in 2000, their marriage still left a lasting mark on Chanté’s music.

After splitting up in 2000 because they felt more like friends than lovers, they stayed close and continued to co-parent their daughter, Sophia Milan Hardison, together.

Their story piques curiosity about Kadeem’s current relationship status. Let’s talk about it.

He Has Seemingly Swored Off From Tying the Knot Again

After his split from Chanté, Kadeem took a step back from the whole marriage scene, for good. It’s not clear why, but seems like he’s just decided that marriage isn’t his thing anymore.

Let’s hope we get to see him settle down soon, but at 58-years old, the chances are getting slimmer.

In addition to that, Kadeem is currently single as well. But he has done his fair share of dating in the past.

He Auctioned Off His Beloved Items to Raise Money for his Girlfriend’s Battle with Cancer

In the early 2000s, after his split with Moore, he started dating Tana Roller, who also works in the industry in the Art Department. Their relationship was more than just a casual thing—it lasted for decades and went deeper than many might realize.

Back in 2004, Tana was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma and had to undergo emergency surgery. She was given a dire prognosis of just five years to live. However, thanks to aggressive treatment, she went into remission. But the challenges didn’t stop there. In 2017, she faced Stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s follicular lymphoma.

Throughout it all, Kadeem was more than just a supportive boyfriend; he was her lifeline. He even organized an auction called ‘Healing Cancer’ where he sold memorabilia from his A Different World days, along with other items, some autographed by himself, to help with Tana’s medical expenses. Right now, Tana is on the road to recovery.

However, despite their long and deep connection, it looks like the couple might not be together anymore. If you’ve scrolled through Hardison’s social media lately, you’ll notice that photos of them together have started to disappear—a classic sign that things might have ended.

He Dated His A Different World Co-Star in the 90s

Even after three decades, A Different World is still a beloved classic, and we’re all here for it—from its iconic style to its down-to-earth storylines. And who could forget the epic romance between Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert? But, guess what? It turns out the real-life love stories on set were just as real, especially between Kadeem and Cree.

Kadeem, the cool guy behind Dwayne Wayne, spilled some serious tea about his off-screen romance with Summer, who played the free-spirited Freddie Brooks. During a sneak peek of TV One’s Uncensored, Hardison opened up about their connection, saying,

Cree and I…from the time we met we became best friends.

Things took a romantic turn one night when they went out, shared a kiss, and suddenly, Cree was confessing her love for him. Meanwhile, Kadeem was in a bit of a soap opera himself, pretending to be in love with Jasmine Guy’s character, Whitley, on the show. Talk about a complicated love triangle!

For that brief year they were together, Cree and Kadeem weren’t shy about their feelings. They were all about public displays of affection, and owning the red carpets.

Though they only dated for a year, the former flames look back fondly on their time together. In an interview with People, Cree called Kadeem “a gentle, gentle man,” and commented that “everyone who meets him falls in love with him.”

What Type of Women Is He Into?

When it comes to who catches Kadeem Hardison’s eye, he’s got a pretty specific vibe in mind. He said to People in 1992,

“I like them a little shorter, a little fuller. If I have a type, it would be the outgoing ones, the go-getters, the ones who don’t like to sit down.”
