In 2023, she shined in the Off-Broadway hit Stereophonic, which quickly became a word-of-mouth sensation and is now opening on Broadway. In this play, Canfield portrays Holly, a member of a ’70s-era band echoing Fleetwood Mac, capturing the trials and tribulations of a group on the brink of superstardom. She brings a realness and a rawness to Holly that’s both captivating and heart-wrenchingly genuine.

This mix of backgrounds gave Juliana a broad perspective from a young age, helping her navigate various environments with ease. Her unique cultural heritage influences her approach to life and her work, allowing her to connect authentically with a wide range of characters and stories.

Growing up, Juliana, an only child, split her time between Sneden’s Landing, New York, and Washington, D.C., due to her parents’ careers.

Juliana’s Is  A Member of An Incredibly Influential Family

The 32 year-old actress’ family lineage is steeped in historical significance and wealth, tracing back to prominent figures in American history.

Firstly, she is the great-granddaughter of Augustus Cass Canfield Sr., a notable figure in the publishing world. He was the president and later chairman of Harper & Brothers, which eventually became Harper & Row, a prominent publishing house.

The roots of the Canfield family’s influence extend even further back. Augustus Cass Canfield was the son of another Augustus Cass Canfield, a wealthy engineer and avid yachtsman.

This lineage of wealth and prominence continues with the family’s connection to Lewis Cass, a significant political figure who ran for the Presidency in 1848 but was defeated by Zachary Taylor.  The Cass family mainly earned thanks to all the lands they owned.

Today, the Canfield/Cass family is worth more than $100 million.

But talking about her own wealth, well, thanks to all those years of hard work, the American Horror Story star today stands as someone who is about to reach the million threshold. As of 2024, her net worth is $400,000.

Her Grandmother Had A Big Influence On Her Life

Juliana’s grandmother, Jacqueline Riddick Jackson, aka, Jaki, was a pioneering yoga instructor and a much-loved figure in the East Hampton community for over six decades.

When she passed away on October 22nd, 2023, she left a lasting mark on the community and on her granddaughter.

Jaki was not only a dedicated teacher but also an enthusiastic participant in local arts and community events. She founded Sunny Time Workshop, a summer camp that later became a well-loved nursery school.

Jaki’s career as a yoga teacher and her active role in the arts, particularly in local theater, likely inspired the Calling star’s own path into acting.

Seeing her grandmother embrace the stage with enthusiasm and gusto possibly sparked Juliana’s interest in performing, showing her the joy and fulfillment that come from artistic expression.

Her Parents Are Devout Philanthropist

Canfield’s parents have led distinguished careers alongside their extensive philanthropic efforts. Her father, Thomas, has been deeply involved in the corporate world as a lawyer, currently serving as Spirit Airlines Inc.’s Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary since October 2007.

His career has spanned various significant roles, including being the General Counsel & Secretary of Point Blank Solutions, CEO and Plan Administrator of AT&T Latin America Corp, and a counsel at the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York.

Meanwhile, her mother, Danielle, holds the position of President at Port Mackall, LLC, a company dedicated to the reliable delivery of high-quality medical supplies at competitive prices.

They once hosted a significant event at their Georgetown home for National Student Partnerships (NSP). This organization plays a crucial role in helping disadvantaged individuals find employment, affordable housing, and healthcare.

Her Mother Influenced Her To Study at Yale

Canfield’s journey to Yale started with a simple childhood curiosity. When she was just 7, involved in a local children’s Shakespeare theater, she asked her mom what it took to be a good actress.

Her mom’s answer was straightforward: ‘Well, the best actors go to the Yale School of Drama.’ That was all Juliana needed to hear. Deciding then and there, she set her sights on Yale, a goal she carried into her teenage years and beyond.

She started at Yale as an undergraduate, diving into English literature. Juliana graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Yale College in 2014. But she didn’t stop there.

Fuelled by her initial dream and her ongoing passion for acting, she went on to pursue and complete a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the prestigious David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University, graduating in 2017.
