Daniella Thackray, 25, belongs to the mixed ethnicity of Indian/Engish. Although her parent’s identity remains hidden, we do know that one-half of her is from a South Asian country, and her other is from England itself.

Hailing from Leeds, England, Thackray’s life was cut short by a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Her death left a profound impact through a pre-written eulogy posted on her social media accounts. Diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a type of cancer that begins in the bile ducts, Thackray faced a disease with no discernible cause or cure. Despite her health and active lifestyle, she was thrust into a battle she had little control over, undergoing significant medical procedures, including liver resection and gallbladder surgery.

In her final message, shared posthumously by her family, Thackray emphasized the unpredictability of life and the importance of responding to unforeseen challenges. She advocated for appreciation of the small joys and living fully, cherishing every moment, and finding happiness regardless of circumstances.

Romanticise your life! Do whatever makes you happy and don’t let anyone take the joy of life away from you.

she wrote.

Daniella, a graduate of Newcastle University, also highlighted her professional life at the marketing firm 26 Agency, her love for her fiancé Tom Calvert, her family, friends, and her dog Leo, as sources of joy and support that illuminated her darkest days. Her message resonated with thousands, going viral on social media platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook.

In her touching conclusion, Thackray left a heartfelt message to her fiancé, expressing her love and gratitude for the happiness he brought into her life and encouraging him to move forward and embrace life’s opportunities.

She said, “And lastly to my dear, beautiful Tom, I love you and always will. Thank you for supporting me and bringing so much love and happiness into my life. Go enjoy your life now, you deserve it. Daniella ❤️”

Her funeral took place on 18th March at Hughes Funeral Services. She was commemorated in a service that reflected her Christian faith.
