Bianca Castro, born Leonor B. Chapdelaine, 45, has made a name for herself in Texas journalism since her days at Baylor University. Her career began in Waco, capturing stories from President Bush’s Crawford ranch visits to military life at Fort Hood. She then dominated the airwaves as KRIS’s primary evening anchor in Corpus Christi, handling hurricanes and local stories.

In 2014, the on-air personality joined NBC 5 as the co-anchor of “First at Four” alongside Kristi Nelson. Off-air, Castro relishes life in Frisco, TX, perfectly balancing the roles of a dedicated journalist, wife, and mother.

She is a Loving Wife and Mother to Three Children

Bianca and her husband Ryan Chapdelaine have been a strong team since tying the knot in 2007, joyfully raising their three kids, Graham, Jack, and Ariana. Life at home echoes the news cycle’s unpredictability, yet Ryan’s constant support steadies, from driving Bianca on icy roads to soothing their son with Elmo before pre-surgery.

His exceptional care shone brightly during the birth of their daughter, Ariana. He was a constant pillar of strength, staying by Bianca’s side for three long nights at the hospital, and seamlessly stepping into the role of Mr. Mom, taking care of their sons and the house. After bringing their newest family member home, Bianca took to Facebook on December 11, 2015, to express her appreciation for her husband’s constant support. She wrote,

My other half is pretty amazing. Since Baby came into the world one week ago today, he has become Mr. Mom to our two boys: cooking, cleaning, driving to and from school, you name it. AND he’s dealing with a hormonal wife recovering from a c-section 😳😳. He’s my rock. My everything.

She Has Fond Memories With Her Brothers

Castro takes great pride in her family roots, actively fostering connections among the next generation of Castros. Alongside her parents, Mario and Lourdes, and her four brothers—Mario A., Stefan, Andreas, and Rolando—the Castro clan makes every occasion a reunion, be it their mother’s birthday, Easter, Thanksgiving, or even Christmas.

Bianca Lost 17 Pounds in Just 4 Months

She is a whirlwind of energy, both on and off the screen. By January 2017, Bianca had dropped 17 pounds over the course of the previous four months, thanks to the addictive spin classes at Neon Cycle & Strength in Plano and a rigorous routine that blends HIIT with strength training.

She shared her journey on Facebook with an inspiring message that concluded, “I’m here to tell you it can be done!! Stay motivated! Find an accountability partner! Be your very best!!”

Despite a packed schedule, Bianca ensures her workouts are done by 7 am to keep the rest of her day free for family and work. She fuels her body with nutritious choices like daily spinach and indulges her sweet tooth with Guiltless Goodies donuts, satisfying cravings without guilt. Her dedication serves as a powerful motivator for anyone looking to kickstart their fitness goals.

She Has a Love-Hate Relationship With Golf

When the world slowed down in 2020, Castro sped up—right onto the golf course! During the pandemic, golf became her retreat, blending exercise, mental relief, and safe socializing on nature’s splendid fairways.

Her love-hate relationship with the sport is only heightened by the sizzling Texas heat. Bianca humorously shared her ongoing battle with the game in a Facebook post in July 2020, insisting, “I have a long ways to go. Don’t ask my score. I don’t keep it.”
